The Bell at Alderminster Turns 10
This year, Tiernan Travel’s local drinking hole, The Bell, celebrates its 10thbirthday and a decade in business under the management of the Alscot Estate. Once a former eighteenth century coaching inn The Bell in Alderminster is now very much a destination pub with an AA Rosette restaurant and 9 individually styled boutique guest bedrooms.
Determined to mark the occasion in style, The Bell are stretching their celebrations for this momentous birthday across both June and July and in addition to the festivities have added two new special birthday beverages to their drinks offering.
Ahead of The Bell’s actual birthday, a new beer was introduced to their line-up as well as a new blend of coffee. Local brewery, North Cotswold have brewed up a special beer appropriately named Dec-Ale which will be poured throughout the year and local coffee company Monsoon Estates have roasted a full-bodied Papua New Guinea blend which has been named Pappy Birthday.
On Monday 18thJune, the pub’s official 10thbirthday, owner Emma Holman-West and The Bell’s two longest serving members of staff planted an oak tree in the grounds behind the pub. The tree marks the start of the Alscot Parkland Restoration Project where in excess of 150 trees will be planted across the estate from November this year. Regulars were also invited to join the team for a drink on the house that day to raise a glass to them turning ten.
The remainder of the revelries take place on Sunday 8thJuly when The Bell are throwing a big birthday bash in their garden to which everyone is invited. A Stratford based DJ will be pumping out cool summer beats from their balcony, 3-9pm. There will be a BBQ, an outside cocktail and Champagne bar, an array of entertainment (some of which will remain a surprise until the day) and plenty of prize giveaways. It promises to be a fun-filled day for all the family.
Tiernan Travel wishes The Bell a very Happy 10thBirthday!
